Court records say a reserve deputy spotted the sport utility vehicle Ashley was driving traveling 61 mph in a 45 mph zone in Florence early on Oct. 1. Prosecutors say Ashley fled the traffic stop, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph.
He hit spike strips near Victor that punctured three tires, but he continued to drive on the rims. Ashley was arrested when the car went into a ditch on a road southwest of Victor.
