For the third straight time, a Missoula firefighter won the stair-climbing competition in Seattle. This is his sixth year competing.
Andrew Drobeck posted a time of 11 minutes, 5 seconds.
The competition requires firefighters to race up 69 flights of stairs in the Columbia Center in full combat gear, which is no easy task.
“It feels good. I mean, it’s good to win any event and it's pretty much for anybody. Even if you're not first, 69 stories in your bunker gear is not an easy task for anybody. I think everybody puts out pretty equal effort," said Drobeck.
The stair-climb is a fundraiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
