Man sentenced for hiding mother from police
A man has been sentenced for helping to hide his mother after she allegedly ran over a Missoula police officer.
Today, Judge Ed McLean sentenced Stephen Roy Goodman to three years with the Department of Corrections on charges of obstructing an officer and criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Prosecutors told NBC Montana that Goodman paid a neighbor with methamphetamine to hide his mother, Dawnette Eaton, in an apartment while police searched for her.
The Missoula County Attorney's Office says that in early January, Eaton ran over Missoula police officer Deni Poling, sending her to the hospital. Another officer shot Eaton, but she reportedly drove off and hid.
Eaton faces 50 years behind bars for backing over Poling. She has plead not guilty to charges in the case.
