BILLINGS, Mont. -

A 19-year-old man charged with killing his great-grandmother in Billings told investigators he got angry when she said he was going to turn out just like his father.

Robert Alan Thompson was arrested Saturday in Denver, a day after the body of 77-year-old Shirley Lawrence was found in her house.

Charging documents filed Monday indicate Thompson told Denver police that he was talking with Lawrence about concerns over his finding a job when she told him "he was going to be just like his father." Court records say Thompson told investigators that he got angry, struck Lawrence in the back of the head with a metal object and then stabbed her in the chest.

Thompson remains jailed in Denver pending extradition to Montana.
