MISSOULA, Mont. -

A Missoula man is in the hospital tonight with serious injuries after allegedly ramming his SUV into a building.

Police were called around 5:45 Tuesday evening to the Farmers Insurance building at 1705 Reserve St., at the intersection of Reserve and Mount.

According to police, the driver allegedly struck the building three times, and stopped the vehicle inside the building. The 50-year-old Missoula man was transported by ambulance to Saint Patrick Hospital to be treated for his injuries. No one was inside the building at the time of the incident.

Officials say they have not been able to question the driver yet, due to the injuries sustained in the crash. No charges have been filed, pending the completion of the investigation.

A witness at the scene told NBC Montana it appeared the driver intentionally backed up and repeatedly crashed into the building.
