BUTTE, Mont. -

A 34-year-old man convicted of stabbing a Butte man to death in February 2011 has been sentenced to serve a life sentence at a mental health care facility.
The Montana Standard reports District Judge Kurt Krueger sentenced Jeremy Mata on Thursday and recommended he serve his sentence at the Montana State Hospital in Warm Springs.
A jury found Mata guilty of deliberate homicide last October in the death of 62-year-old Robert "Chicago Bob" Bajzer. Bajzer was found dead on a city sidewalk after being stabbed numerous times with a large kitchen knife.
Defense attorney Steven Scott told Krueger that his client has no memory of the murder. Psychologist Tim Casey testified that he diagnosed Mata as having schizophrenia and said he is prone to having "episodes," especially when he doesn't take his medication.
