Man found guilty of assault after charging deputies with his truck
A Gallatin County man is awaiting sentencing after jurors found him guilty of two counts of assaulting a peace officer.
It happened almost two years ago. According to court records, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the Four Corners area. Records indicate, Kristoffer Carnes was ordered to step away from his truck. Carnes refused and then drove towards the deputies.
The deputies moved out of the way but court records indicate then Carnes put the truck in reverse and came at them again. One of the deputies was able to reach into the truck and remove the keys.
Carnes is set to be sentenced in September.
