MISSOULA, Mont. -

One man is dead after a car he was driving crashed through a guard rail and into the Blackfoot River Sunday morning.

Montana Highway Patrol Troopers say the crash happened around 10 a.m. on Highway 200 near the Paw Up Ranch entrance, about 35 miles from Missoula.

Troopers say a witness saw a car with Montana license plates weaving across the road before it crashed through the guard rail.

The car and driver were pulled from the river hours later, and the man was confirmed dead.

Troopers say a beagle was recovered after the crash and was uninjured. Crews are still searching for a black lab that's missing.

The man's identity has not been released.
