Malmstrom passes nuclear re-inspection
The 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base received a perfect score in a nuclear re-inspection required after airmen were rated unsatisfactory in two areas of a 13-point inspection in August.
Malmstrom spokesman Capt. Chase McFarland says that inspectors found no errors or deficiencies in Thursday's Nuclear Surety Inspection.
Wing commander Col. Robert Stanley says wing received 10 exceptional ratings in August, one satisfactory and two unsatisfactory ratings tied to the same incident during the exercise.
Units that handle nuclear weapons are inspected every two years.
The Air Force removed 341st commander Col. David Lynch from command at Malmstrom a week after the August inspection, saying it was due to a loss of confidence not related to the failed inspection.
