The 7-acre lightning-caused fire is burning in the Spanish Peaks portion of the Lee Metcalf Wilderness, about one mile north of Lava Lake and west of Highway 191 near Cascade Creek.
The Forest Service said firefighters got full control of the blaze on Thursday, and have since hiked out. The two helicopters assigned to the fire are no longer dropping water.
The Lava Lake Trail (Forest Service Trail #77) and a trail from Table Mountain that connects into Lava Lake (Forest Service Trail #445) reopened to the public Friday.
Firefighters will continue to keep an eye on the fire.
