BOZEMAN, Mont. - Deputies arrested 41 year old Jason Todd Royston Sunday night after he reportedly passed out in the lobby of the Gallatin County Detention Center.
Royston appeared in Justice Court Monday morning before Judge Bryan Adams.
According to court documents, Royston told deputies that he had driven from Gillette, Wyoming to Bozeman, Montana to pick up keys from his jailed brother.
Prosecutors say Royston admitted to deputies that he had been drinking the entire drive. NBC Montana used Google Maps to plot the route and found it's 375 miles.
Deputies say a breath alcohol sample provided came back at .254, more than three times the legal limit.
Royston pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor charge of aggravated driving under the influence. Judge Adams released Royston on his own recognizance and ordered he be fitted with an alcohol monitoring bracelet.
