National group, locals protest Walmart pork in Bozeman

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The group Mercy for Animals stopped in Bozeman Wednesday to protest Walmart pork.

A group of about 10 people, including a national representative and local residents, used a 10 foot inflatable pig to raise awareness.

Mercy for Animals says their hidden cameras have captured abuse of animals at Walmart's pork suppliers.

They say pregnant pigs are kept in cages with no room to lie down or turn around, and are asking Walmart to pressure suppliers into ending the practice.

Livingston resident Bonnie Goodman traveled over to Bozeman to participate in the protest and told us, "I am hoping that people will see how these pigs are treated and reconsider their food choices."

Mercy for Animals has been to more than 60 cities over the past two and a half months.

Their next protest is in Missoula on October 25th.
