BUTTE, Mont. - After three months of searching, Montana Tech named its new athletics director. David Lau accepted the job Friday night.
Lau comes from Missouri Western State University, where he has been assistant athletics director for more than a decade.
Lau is taking over after the last athletic director, Charles Bradley, was fired for reasons still unknown.
For the past few months, football coach Bob Green has served as the interim athletic director. He said he's confident Lau is the man for the job.
"He's got to get to work on ticketing, get to work on promotions, get to work on everything that will entail on the upcoming seasons," said Green. "You think it's a long way away, but trust me, from an athletic director's perspective it's a heartbeat."
Green said Lau will start his new position June 1.
