Mayors celebrate friendly Cat-Griz rivalry with traditional bet

BOZEMAN, Mont. - In just two days Bozeman's Bobcats will square off against Missoula's Grizzlies in the annual Brawl of the Wild.  This year will be the 112th Cats-Griz showdown on the gridiron and mayors of each city have decided to "make it interesting" again this year.

Bozeman Mayor Sean Becker told us Thursday he wouldn't miss the chance to continue the friendly rivalry.
The tradition dictates the losing team's mayor must wear the winning team's clothing and display it in public.

Becker says he's confident it won't be him this year.

"Much like other Cat-Griz traditions, I think the bet between the two mayors, at least in the public service realm, is a pretty exciting one for us.  We've been lucky in years past and had great teams and this year, we have a really strong team.  So I think that Mayor Engen is going to be wearing some blue and gold here next week," says Becker.

Becker says he and his wife just had a baby so they won't be heading to Missoula for the Brawl of the Wild, but he says will be paying close attention to the game.
