BUTTE, Mont. - Mariah's Challenge in Butte is gearing up for its first ever Fun Run.
Mariah's Challenge is an organization that educates and spreads awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. It was founded after a drunk driver hit and killed Mariah McCarthy in 2007
Mariah's sister, Jenna McCarthy, organized a Fun Run as a part of her master's degree project and to honor her sister.
People participating in the Fun Run will run a 5k around Copper Mountain Park.
"I pretty much just want it to be a community event for family and friends just running and walking," said Jenna McCarthy. "Just a fun community event, there's going to be music, I just want it to be a fun, fun event."
Registration for the first annual Fun Run starts at noon Sunday and the 5k race starts an hour later.
