Man who stole elderly woman's purse, led police on chase sentenced in court

BOZEMAN, Mont. - A Washington man who snatched an elderly woman's purse, then led police on a high speed chase with his accomplice was sentenced to six months in jail Tuesday.

Last July, police arrested Washington men Kenneth Lohman and Joshua Bolton after the two reportedly stole the woman's purse, and knocked her to the ground in the Belgrade Albertson's parking lot.

According to court documents, the woman tried to get her purse back but they sped off.

Police say they caught up with the car near Three Forks and attempted to pull the men over, but the men fled.

Court reports state police chased the car down I-90, with the car crossing over and driving on the wrong side of the interstate at one point.

Highway troopers later found the car off of the highway. They say Lohman and a juvenile female who was in the car with them surrendered.

But they say Bolton fled on foot, and they found him hiding under a nearby house.
Police charged both men with robbery.

On February 1st, a jury found Lohman guilty of a misdemeanor theft charge.

Judge Holly Brown sentenced him to six months in jail, with credit for time served.
