'Gift Worth Giving' charity wedding opens applications for third year

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Gift Worth Giving aims to give one lucky couple a dream wedding they couldn't otherwise have.

It started as an idea hatched by a wedding photographer, wedding dress shop owner and wedding planner a few years ago.

Now, the Gift Worth Giving has turned into an annual event.

And the founders are looking for a couple for next year's wedding- which is the third Gift Worth Giving.

After 5 and Weddings owner Megan Jacks said they'll start accepting applications on November 3rd.

She said any deserving couple can- and should- apply.

"Deserving can be defined in many ways. Maybe our couple is experiencing financial hardship, military deployment or an illness, or they might be very community-minded and deserve this gift because they themselves are so giving of their time as volunteers" Jacks said, in a press release. "Couples will be considered for many reasons."

The wedding date is June 11, 2013 at the Springhill Pavilion in Bozeman. Jacks said several local wedding sponsors will donate their services- including the venue, event design, bridal party wear, photography, flowers, catering, music, rings, make-up, beverages and more.

The bride and groom must have ties to Montana and be able to have their wedding on the exact date to be considered.

Applications will close January 3rd, and the finalists will be announced at the Bridal Affair on January 12th. The organizers will announce the final couple on Valentine's Day, February 14th.
