Friends plan benefit for 12-year-old with cancer

BUTTE, Mont. - A 12-year-old Butte boy diagnosed with cancer needs your help.

We first told you about Butte resident Caden Puccinelli last Christmas. He has what doctors call Recurrent Hodgkin, and is going through high-dose chemotherapy at the Denver Children's Hospital.

Friends are holding a benefit in September, to help raise money for the family's expenses.

Right now, friends are selling bracelets, shirts and taking donations They are also selling $100 raffle tickets for an ATV grand prize.

"I will help them," said benefit organizer and friend Nikki DeShazo. "I will get anyone to help me help them that I can. Nobody should go through this alone, especially a family that has to focus on their child."

Puccinelli will be getting a stem cell transplant in the next six to eight weeks.

You can donate or buy raffle tickets by calling Jasmine Lamping at (406) 494-4442 or Michelle Steele at (406) 494-1313.

The benefit will be held September 19 at the Butte Depot.
