BOZEMAN, Mont. - Thirty people showed up to Thursday's introductory meeting at the Willson building in Bozeman.
Parents expressed concerns about being able to keep their students in the same school they currently attend.
School officials reassured parents that students who want to stay at their current school will be able to. They said the do not have any plans to separate siblings.
NBC Montana stopped by Longfellow School this afternoon to get parents' thoughts. Most echoed the sentiment that they prefer their children not have to change schools.
The new elementary school is expected to completed in time for the start of the 2014 school year.
The district did not say when the new boundaries will be drawn up.
