City, state officials honor Butte's new justice center

BUTTE, Mont. - State and city officials sank copper shovels into the dirt in honor of the new Butte Justice Center's groundbreaking ceremony.

It's taken at least four years to begin the project, but soon the new building will be offices for the Montana Highway Patrol, Motor Vehicle Division and Butte-Silver Bow Disaster and Emergency Services agency.

Montana Attorney General Tim Fox, State Senator Jon Sesso and Chief Executive Matt Vincent spoke at the event.

Fox said he wants Butte-Silver Bow to have the best of government services.

"We'll be able to make sure that these wonderful government employees will continue to live and work here for many years to come," said Fox.

Fox said government employees will be able to move into the new building as soon as December.
