BUTTE, Mont. - Butte police captain Doug Conway says emergency crews responded to calls of an explosion at 420 Aluminum street Saturday evening shortly before 6:00 PM.
Conway tells NBC Montana when emergency crews arrived, it appeared the resident of the home may have ignited the explosive on purpose, but the investigation is still underway.
Authorities say they found evidence in the home that lead them to believe there could be more explosives. That's when they say they called for back-up from the Missoula bomb squad.
Reports say when the Missoula explosives unit arrived on the scene, they found questionable items in the home and took them to be examined.
Captain Conway says after the initial investigation they found this was an isolated incident and people should not be concerned for their safety.
Authorities say there was no evidence the explosion was drug related.
