BUTTE, Mont. - A blistering heat wave descends on Western Montana. Many areas west of the Continental Divide could set or match record high temperatures.
The temperature passed 90 degrees Monday afternoon.
The hot weather has folks across western Montana hunting for places to cool off.
In the Mining City, families packed area splash parks to beat the heat, but Butte doesn't have an outdoor pool.
People could also escape indoors to movie theaters or the shopping mall.
The kids told us they love the splash parks, but parents wish there were more options.
Butte resident Amy Thompson said, "we are grateful for it and we hope that maybe down the road that something more will come to town... we go up to Georgetown too, but sometimes it's easier to just stay in town."
