Butte police identify armed robbery suspects

BUTTE, Mont. - Butte Police released the identities of the two people suspected of robbing a business Monday night.

According to investigators, a man and a woman robbed the Coins and Cards shop on Harrison Ave.robbed at gun point.

Police identified the suspects as Dale Edward Wallace, age 30, and Sarah Jo Johnson, age 30. They are believed to be traveling to the eastern part of Montana in a 2014 white Jeep Commander.

The owner reported that a man and woman entered the store and the man pointed a large caliber gun at him. They then bound his hands and escorted him to a back room.

The owner reported the suspects stayed in the store for 15-20 minutes and took money, collectable coins, and 4-5 firearms from the display case.

Wallace and Johnson allegedly left in the owner's car, a 1999 Buick Park Avenue.

It took about 15 minutes for the owner to get free and call 9-1-1.

Police tell NBC Montana they located the stolen vehicle at a Motel 6 in Rocker.

From surveillance video, prior contact with officers and phone calls from the public, the police were able to identify the suspects.

"Obviously we think these people are armed and dangerous," said Sheriff Ed. Lester. "They had weapons at the time of the offense and now they have additional weapons that they took from the store."

Police say bond for each suspect will be $150,000.

"In conjunction with other law enforcement agencies throughout the region," said Sheriff Lester. "We hope we can bring these two into custody without anybody getting hurt."
