BOZEMAN, Mont. - On October 26, around 8:30 pm, police tell us a 25-year old woman said she was walking along the 200 block of Hunter's Way, when a car pulled up next to her.
The driver got the woman's attention, and initially police said she thought the driver knew her husband.
But then he got out of the vehicle and grabbed her.
Police recounted the details of the incident to NBC Montana on Monday.
"The subject reached out and grabbed her on her right shoulder, and said 'Come here.'" Lieutenant Steve Crawford said. "She hit him with a flashlight she was carrying, and she ran away."
The victim made it to safety and called police.
She described the suspect as white, six foot two male with a stocky build, buzz cut hair, and a short beard.
She said he was driving a red, two-door passenger car.
Investigators are asking anyone who thinks they saw that vehicle in the area, or might have information on the suspect, to call Crimestoppers at 586-1131 or Bozeman Police at 582-2000.
