K-Mart employees stop robber
BUTTE, Mont. -

A Butte man is facing felony robbery charges after police say he attempted to steal from K-Mart.

We're told several K-Mart employees had to hold the suspect down to keep him from escaping.

According to police, Joseph William Gray III tried to scale the fence near the store's garden center. During the scuffle, he hurt one of the employees. It's because of that, police said, that he was charged with robbery instead of just theft.

Undersheriff George Skuletich explained, "the suspect was throwing merchandise over the garden shop fence and was attempting to scale the fence to leave when the K-Mart employees took him off the fence and were holding him down prior to our arrival."

If convicted, Gray faces a minimum of 2 years in prison and fines of up to $50,000.
