Wilma Theater presents sneak peek of music documentary

MISSOULA, Mont. - This Friday in Missoula, music and film worlds come together at the premiere of a new documentary called 'All the Labor.'

Thursday night NBC Montana met with the film's director-producer, Doug Hawes-Davis.

Hawes-Davis tells us the documentary is about The Gourds, a rootsy-rock band from Texas, with a large following in Missoula.

Hawes-Davis says he fell in love with the band's music when they came through town and he knew he had to highlight their sound, so he traveled with the group as they toured and produced a film about them.

"The most important thing to me was that it sounded really good, so we put a lot of time in making sure our live recordings sound fantastic," said Hawes-Davis.  "We shot with four to eight cameras at every show, so it's really fun to watch because it's like being at a Gourds show in a way that you don't get to experience them by going to a show."

If you want to catch the sneak peak premiere of 'All the Labor,' tickets can be purchased at Ear Candy or at the show.

Doors open Friday at 7:00 p.m. – the show starts at 8:00 p.m. at the Wilma.
