FLORENCE, Mont. - Wildfire smoke has drifted east from fires burning in the northwest, and taken a rest over Ravalli County.
Friday evening saw much of the valley shrouded in a dense, thick smoke.
Driving south from Missoula, drivers who had their windows open may have been reminded of a campfire.
It made for a spectacular sunset near Florence.
The Harris family of Florence was working outside on this somewhat muggy evening.
Young Taylor Harris was changing sprinkler pipes with his dad.
"I don't like it (the smoke)," said Taylor, "because I start coughing and I don't want to be outside when the smoke comes in."
The young man said the smoke moved in quickly about 2 o'clock Friday afternoon.
