MISSOULA, Mont. - The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has helped close the funding gap to build a new Poverello Center in Missoula.
The Missoula philanthropic organization has issued a $50,000 challenge grant to contributors.
Poverello said now through November 1, for every dollar donated, the foundation will match it through that grant.
A private sector fundraising campaign has raised more than $1.2 million towards a $1.6 million goal.
Poverello plans to build a new emergency shelter and soup kitchen at the old Trails End bar site on West Broadway.
