UM emergency alert issued after report of man groping student


MISSOULA, Mont. - University of Montana police issued the following emergency text and email alert:

"UM police are following up on leads for a male suspect who groped a female student in a stairwell of the Liberal Arts building between 3:30 and 4 pm. He was described as 6'1" and around age 21. He was skinny and wearing a green hat and dark clothes.

 All students are advised to be on alert for any suspicious behavior. Griz Personal Safety (GPS) is available to walk students at night. Call GPS at 406.243.2777.

 Students are encouraged to report any suspicious activity or person to the Office of Public Safety @ 406.243.4000."
