MISSOULA, Mont. - Suspects in a Missoula drug sting gone wrong pleaded not guilty to charges in the case.
Three people arrested in connection with the incident where an undercover police officer and a suspect were shot, appeared in Missoula County District Court Tuesday.
Joshua Robinson, 25, pleaded not guilty to charges for attempted deliberate homicide and robbery. Prosecutors allege Robinson shot the undercover Missoula Police Officer and tried to rob him during a High Intensity Drug Task Force operation outside Gold's Gym in November.
Jazmine Beehler, 22, also pleaded not guilty to felony charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. Prosecutors allege Beehler sold methamphetamine to an undercover cop earlier in November, and planned to meet again for another sale. That's when prosecutors say she and Robinson and other suspects planned to robbed the buyer.
In court Tuesday, Beehler's attorney told the judge that Beehler is pregnant and needs medical care outside of the Missoula County Detention Center. Judge Karen Townsend said she doesn't typically make rulings over what happens at the jail, and indicated the jail medical staff should take care of Beehler.
Also in court, Rachelle Kolden, 31, pleaded not guilty to felony charges of conspiracy to commit robbery and criminal distribution of dangerous drugs. Kolden was arrested days after the incident. Prosecutors say Kolden sold meth to an undercover officer in October.
A fourth suspect Justin Holdstheenemy, 31, faces a felony charges for his role in the incident. He allegedly went with Robinson initially to approach the officer, until the cop said he only wanted to deal with one of the men. Holdstheenemy is scheduled to enter a plea in the case Thursday.
