Suspect arrested after downtown high speed chase

MISSOULA, Mont. - Hundreds of Missoula bar goers may have escaped serious injury early Friday morning when a convicted felon led police on a high speed chase through downtown.

Police say James McPhail eventually pulled over and was arrested.

He appeared in Missoula County Justice Court Friday on felony criminal endangerment charges.

Police say McPhail fled in his vehicle around 1:30 a.m. Friday as police were responding to a disturbance at Caras Park.

We pulled McPhail's court file, which shows he has already served time for assault and drug charges stemming from a road rage incident in 2005.
