No charges for Whitefish woman in shooting death

WHITEFISH, Mont. - Flathead County prosecutors have announced they won't press charges against a Whitefish woman who allegedly shot and killed her boyfriend back in February. Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan says there is not any evidence to go against Lanegan's claim she was defending herself against Ordean Engebreson during a dispute.

Whitefish Police Chief Bill Dial tells NBC Montana the two had been drinking at the Whitefish Winter Carnival before the incident. Dial says it was a domestic dispute that turned violent. Those interested in reading Flathead County Attorney Ed Corrigan's letter about the incident can click here.
