Montana CPA firm to audit Ravalli Co. troubled treasurer's office

HAMILTON, Mont. - The largest Montana based CPA firm in the state will audit Ravalli County's troubled treasurer's office.

County Attorney Bill Fulbright has hired Anderson ZurMuehlen and company.

The audit comes after commissioners placed Valerie Stamey on paid administrative leave over unbalanced books and late deposits.

The CPA overseeing the independent exam expects a preliminary report in a couple weeks.

Fulbright has also asked the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation to investigate allegations of criminal misconduct.
