Missoulians spend part of holiday watching presidential inauguration

MISSOULA, Mont. - It was a nice day to spend outside. But the inauguration kept many people close to their TVs for at least some of the day. Many Missoulians said they at least watched the highlights.

Kristal Fifield started watching the ceremony at the downtown restaurant she works at before the business even opened. She turned her TV on at home early, before she started her day.

Kristal's a college student with a job, and a 2 year old who is almost 3.

She thinks this inauguration falling on Martin Luther King Jr. Day is special, and she wants her daughter to know she's part of it.

"I just think it's important that she be introduced to government because if you don't know what's going on you can't really complain," laughed Kristal.

She knows her daughter won't remember the event. But she said her little girl did like Michelle Obama on TV. The toddler thought she was a princess.
