MISSOULA, Mont. - A local Montana brewery has global bragging rights after taking a top prize in an international beer competition -- the World Beer Cup -- held last week in Denver.
Missoula's KettleHouse Brewing Company took the gold medal there for its Double Haul IPA.
To top it off, we're told the IPA segment was one of the competition's most competitive categories, with a field of 41 other entrants.
"In a more and more crowded field, to even get in the championship is a huge honor," said KettleHouse founder Tim O'Leary. "Then to stand out amongst those beers is huge. I just can't say it enough. It's just really exciting."
The award was handed down by a panel of 219 judges from 31 countries.
