Missoula police install protective glass at main desk

MISSOULA, Mont. - There's a new safety barrier at the Missoula Police Department. The department has installed a protective glass window at its main hall reception area.

The main desk is a busy center for public traffic all day long. Police said the glass should give workers an extra layer of safety.

They said there were no  major incidents that sparked its installation.

But the glass window is also designed to cut down on the spread of germs, especially during cold and flu season.
