MISSOULA, Mont. - The Missoula Police Department has a new way for people to get up-to-date news about local law enforcement.
The department recently hired a new public information officer, and now you can find the department on Twitter.
We're told the PIO will use the Twitter account as another way to connect with the community. It will also be a medium to get out important public safety information.
Public Information Officer Travis Welsh tells us you have to meet people where they are.
"Most people, I think, probably realize that there's an officer behind it that's maintaining it, or putting out information that gives it a little more of a one on one feel," said Welsh. "So we look at it as a benefit."
