Missoula Hellgate Rollergirls in search of more team members

MISSOULA, Mont. - Hundreds turned out Saturday night at the Missoula County Fairgrounds to watch the Hellgate Rollergirls take the rink against the Magic City rollers from Billings.

The Hellgate Rollergirls have been together for more than 5 years. The team is a non-profit organization with a goal to promote women's strength, self esteem and create a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.

But according to one of the captains, it's been a struggle recently to recruit team members.

"With Missoula being a college town, a lot of people come and go and we have a really high turnover rate within our league so girls are looking for better jobs or they are moving out of Missoula or they just have family obligations," said Brynn Nelson.

Captains say they recruit women of all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and skill levels.
