MISSOULA, Mont. - The following is a press release from the Missoula County Sheriff's Department:
This morning at 12:16 AM Missoula County Deputies and EMS personnel
responded to Lewis & Clark Drive in Lolo for a reported shooting. The
initial investigation revealed that two men, ages 55 and 38, were involved in an
argument that became physical when one of the men pushed the other to the
ground. The man that had been pushed to the ground was the home owner who
ordered the other man to leave his house. He then retrieved a .22 caliber pistol
that was nearby and pointed it at the other man warning him to stay away and
leave his house. The man challenged him to shoot and stepped toward the
home owner who then fired one round hitting the man in the forehead. The home
owner then administered aid until the ambulance arrived.
The man that had been shot was taken by ambulance to St. Patrick's Hospital.
His condition is stable.
Because the investigation is ongoing and charges have not been filed we are not
able to release the names of the two men involved in this incident at this time.
