Lady Griz get big win over Southern Utah 81-73

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Lady Griz basketball team used a big scoring second half to beat Southern Utah 81-73 Saturday afternoon inside Dahlberg Arena.

The Lady Griz trailed most of the first half and took almost five minutes before scoring their first bucket in the contest. Montana went to the half trailing the Thunderbirds 35-33, but UM outscored Southern Utah 48-38 to record the 81-73 victory.

The Lady Griz got a big spark from Torry Hill who went 5 for 7 from 3-point range in the second half and scored 17 of her 19 points in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Kellie Cole was also a big contributor in the win. Cole scored a team high 24 points and hit 9-of-10 free throw attempts.

Jordan Sullivan added 11 points for the Lady Griz, while Carly Selvig contributed 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 blocks, giving her 18 blocks the last four games.

The win keeps Montana within one loss of Big Sky leader North Dakota and moves the Lady Griz into a second-place tie with Montana State. The Lady Griz host the Bobcats Monday night at 7 p.m. Which concludes their current four-game home stand.
