Hamilton police investigate suspicious death

HAMILTON, Mont - Police in Hamilton are investigating a suspicious death on the city's south side. A 25-year-old man died at a house on the 400-block of South 4th Street.

His name hasn't been released pending notification of kin. But police detained Michael Richard Sullivan and Candace Elizabeth Sullivan. Neither have been charged with a crime.

It all started after 11 p.m. Tuesday night. Inside the house, police said they found a man, a woman and an unresponsive man.

"The call came in through the 911 center of a disturbance," said Hamilton Police Chief Ryan Oster, "and it was called in by one of the individuals in the house."

Lynnette Cash lives in the neighborhood. She described the scene in this quiet neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

"Cop cars all over the place," she said, "an ambulance, flashing lights all over the yard."

Cash had sometimes made cookies for the people who lived in that house. She said Tuesday she had planned on baking a batch and delivering them across the street. But she didn't.

"It's pretty sad," she said.

The deceased man's body has been transported to the State Crime Lab in Missoula.
