Former Griz player gets deferred sentence for buying drugs

MISSOULA, Mont. - A Missoula judge handed out a deferred prison sentence to a former University of Montana football player for buying dangerous drugs.

NBC Montana reported last October when police arrested 20-year-old Trevor Poole at the Disco Bloodbath III Halloween party. Police saw Pool buy two ‘Molly' pills, a drug similar to Ecstasy. Poole pleaded guilty to the felony drug charge.

In district court Tuesday he apologized to his family, friends, teammates and the university.

The judge gave Poole an 18-month deferred sentence.
