Federal court will not reconsider megaload ruling

MISSOULA, Mont. - An appeal asking a federal judge to reconsider his ruling blocking megaloads along a wild and scenic river corridor has been denied.

A subsidiary of General Electric had asked Judge B. Lynn Winmill to reconsider, arguing they could lose millions of dollars if the equipment they're shipping doesn't arrive at the Canadian oil sands project on schedule.

Last month, Winmill issued an injunction that blocked the company from hauling megaloads through a federal protected Wild and Scenic River corridor.  Winmill said many issues raised in the request to reconsider had been addressed in his original ruling.
