MISSOULA, Mont. - A group of local 4th and 5th graders celebrated Arbor Month on Thursday by planting trees in a area that hasn't had them in more than a century.
Trees for Missoula, a nonprofit urban forest advocacy group, helped the Bonner Elementary students plant at the old Milltown dam site.
The area, located 7 miles east of Missoula, was once under water at the bottom of the Milltown reservoir before the dam was removed a few years ago.
The trees were provided by Missoula Parks and Recreation's Urban Forestry Division.
