MISSOULA, Mont. - The Missoula Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash near Clinton at 2 a.m. Wednesday.
MHP reports of two men in vehicle went over a steep ravine about 400 feet down on Moccasin Ridge Road.
The driver who was in his early 30s died at the scene. He was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. It is reported that the driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt.
The passenger who was in his early 40s wearing his seatbelt and survived the crash. He was transported to a hospital and later released.
Authorities expect that alcohol was a factor.
Crews are working on recovering the vehicle.
Identities of the men have not been released.
