Auction of celebrity's furniture to benefit Missoula nonprofit

MISSOULA, Mont. - Shoppers got an early peek Thursday at home furnishings up for auction Friday in Missoula.

An anonymous local celebrity donated 75 to 100 items -- couches, chairs, lamps -- all kinds of home decor items to be auctioned off.

Proceeds will go to Mountain Home Montana, a nonprofit that provides transitional living programs for young moms and kids. The auction is expected to raise several thousand dollars.

"Basically what it will do is it will pay for the power bill. It will pay for the food. All the things that you use in your household we use in ours, but we have 11 families," said Gypsy Ray, Mountain Home Montana's executive director.

The auction will be held Friday at 1:30 at Gardner's Auction.
