ARLEE, Mont. - An Arlee man, reportedly in his early 50s, was stabbed to death early Monday morning.
Lake County Undersheriff Dan Yonkin said it happened at a house just outside Arlee.
A 16-year-old boy was taken into custody and could face deliberate homicide charges.
Yonkin said when investigators arrived on scene, one man was dead and two others were suffering from stab wounds.
A man and woman were hospitalized. The man was treated and released. The woman remains hospitalized.
Yonkin said the teenage suspect had reportedly left the scene, when law officers arrived, but was later located, and arrested.
Word of the tragedy spread quickly in the small town. Just about everybody in town knew the man who died.
Arlee resident Ilsa Jenson knew the victim because she bowled with him.
"A great guy," said Jenson, "Always full of laughs."
A relative of the man said "We're all hurt." The man who died, he said, "could never hurt anybody."
"A loss like this definitely impacts a community," said Yonkin.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the man who died.
