MISSOULA, Mont. - On Saturday, The University of Montana Chapter of the American Association of University of Women held their annual lunch in celebration of their accomplishments for the year.
The AAUW aims to break through barriers for women and men.
This year AAUW honored Royce Engstrom for his response to sexual assaults on the UM campus. Governor Steve Bullock was also honored for his leadership in equal pay for women. Senator Jon Tester was there and presented the two with their awards.
Tester, Engrstrom and Bullock all said they support the Paycheck Protection Fairness Act which aims to make pay equal among men and women.
"This is the twenty first century and women should get paid the same as men for the same work. It should have been fixed years and years ago," Tester said.
