MISSOULA, Mont. - One person is dead and 4 people suffered serious injuries after a fatal head on collision on Highway 93 south of Missoula.
The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near Trader Brothers, south of Lolo.
Montana Highway Patrol Troopers tell us a Ford pickup truck was southbound when the driver lost control and crossed the center line, colliding head on with an SUV.
We're told the driver of the truck, a 23-year-old female, was killed. Her passenger, and three people inside the SUV, including 2 juveniles, were all seriously injured.
Troopers shut down the highway and diverted traffic onto Old Highway 93 for 4 hours as they investigated the crash and cleared the wreckage. Highway 93 was reopened around 9:30 p.m.
The identity of the 23-year-old killed will be released once family has been notified.
