KALISPELL, Mont. - Organizers with the Tamarack Grief Resource Center are preparing for their annual fundraiser at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. The event will be held January 31 at 6:00 pm. Several paddles will be auctioned off at the event, and those paddles are currently on display at Wheeler Jewelry in Kalispell and at the Lodge. The paddles are hand-painted by Flathead artists, who donated the paddles to the organization.
The Tamarack Grief Resource Center is a nonprofit that helps kids and adults grieving the loss of a loved one. The annual fundraiser in Whitefish helps fund the group's programs, including a camp on Flathead Lake in June for kids who have lost a parent.
"We are so fortunate to be able to have this camp for kids that don't get to be children. They have lost a parent and usually they're coming from a financially disputed situation, [an] emotionally disputed situation. At camp, they get to be kids again," said Lisa Poler, owner of Wheeler Jewelry.
